Edible Bozeman

Sky Shed is a four-season rooftop bar and lounge with sweeping mountain vistas serving specialty cocktails, thoughtfully selected wines and beers, and fresh, shareable plates. Whitefish Handcraft ed Spirits River Rock Gin is the star of this cocktail, a Montana take on the Singapore Sling. The gin is aged in Hungarian oak with subtle and lovely notes of cardamom, citrus, vanilla, and smoke. Try it this spring at Sky Shed or dazzle your guests at home.

1½ ounces Whitefish River Rock Gin
¼ ounce Cointreau
½ ounce lime juice
3 ounces pineapple juice
½ ounce grenadine
1 dash Angostura bitters
½ ounce Giffard’s Banane du Brésil
¼ ounce Bénédictine D.O.M.

Garnishes:
Fresh mint
Lime wheel
Orange twist
Luxardo cherry

Fill a tall glass halfway with crushed ice. Add ingredients and mix with a barspoon or swizzle stick.

Swizzle sticks are made from the Caribbean swizzle stick tree (Quararibea turbinata). These trees sprout branches that end in tiny spokes that spread out like points of a star.

If you don’t have a swizzle stick, use a barspoon. Whichever you use, put it into the drink and roll it between your palms, like you’re starting a fire, so it creates a circular motion in the bottom of the glass. Once the glass begins to frost, fill it up with more crushed ice and continue moving the tool in a circular motion up and down in the glass until it’s fully frosted. Garnish with mint, lime wheel, orange twist, and skewered Luxardo cherry.
