Edible Bozeman

Letter from the Publisher: Summer 2023

Our commitment to elevating the stories of our remarkable community extends beyond insightful articles, enticing photographs, and delicious recipes. From the moment you pick up our magazine, we want you to be captivated by the craftsmanship and artistry that goes into its creation. When you hold an issue of Edible Bozeman in your hands, we want you to feel the same level of care and attention to detail that local farmers, ranchers, artisans, and chefs put into their craft. The visual and tactile experience of flipping the pages is an integral part of the storytelling process. We believe it’s our responsibility to bring stories to life in the most captivating ways possible, creating delight in our readers.

We print on high-quality paper, even though it comes at a high cost. We believe it’s a worthy investment. Printing on premium paper allows us to properly showcase the work of our local writers, photographers, and illustrators, while elevating the stories of our community. Our investment in the paper makes the publication pleasing as well as durable enough to withstand multiple reads for years to come.

Recently, the paper we use has gotten even more expensive. This can be attributed, in part, to the increase in e-commerce and consumer goods shipped door-to-door in cardboard boxes. Many paper mills switched to making cardboard instead of paper stock, and as the supply goes down the price goes up.

Some publications have turned to lower-grade paper stock or are purchasing from overseas sources, which comes with a big carbon footprint. Edible Bozeman remains committed to upholding the values of sustainability and responsible sourcing. Our paper suppliers are environmentally conscious and share our vision. By choosing premium paper, we ensure every issue of Edible Bozeman is a work of art that not only delights your senses, but also reflects our dedication to the environment.

We are proud that all our paper is sourced from reputable mills right here in the United States. By supporting domestic paper mills, we ensure our environmental standards and quality-control measures are upheld, while also contributing to the growth of local industries and communities. Rest assured, every page you hold in your hands is a testament to our dedication to supporting craftsmanship and sustainability.

We appreciate your support and enthusiasm for Edible Bozeman as we continue our journey of celebrating local. We’re committed to bringing you the finest content, both in taste and presentation.
