Neptune’s serves fresh coastal cuisine and surf-style sushi in a welcoming, colorful, and vibrant environment. Their extensive bar features Old- and New-World cocktails made with an excellent selection of fine spirits, such as those made from scratch by Whitefish Handcrafted Spirits, a distillery and restaurant in Kalispell.
This twist on the John Daly classic incorporates Whitefish’s Rum with Spices that is made from their ten-times-distilled, topshelf, black-strap molasses rum, then infused with pure orange, spices, and raw cane for a flavor unlike any other spiced rum. Ask for it at Neptune’s or your favorite liquor retailer.
1½ ounces Whitefish Rum with Spices
1 ounce lemon juice
3 ounces iced tea
½ ounce rich simple syrup
To make rich simple syrup:
Combine ½ cup of granulated sugar and ¼ cup of water in a saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes then let cool. The ratio of sugar to water creates a more concentrated sweetness which prevents over-dilution in cocktails.
To make the cocktail:
Add all ingredients to a tall glass and swizzle with crushed ice. Fill to top with more crushed ice. Garnish with dried lemon and mint bouquet
